Temple of Chavín de Huántar

Our pilgrimage begins at the ancient ceremonial center of Chavín de Huántar, one of the oldest and most significant shamanic temples in the Americas. For over 5,000 years, this sacred sanctuary has served as a place of initiation, pilgrimage, and spiritual transformation.
Here, we will participate in two powerful ceremonies with Huachuma and Willka, held within the energetic presence of this remarkable temple. Chavín is regarded as a gateway into the living memory of sacred plant traditions and a portal that connects us with the mystical heritage of humanity. The second stage of our journey takes us to the breathtaking landscapes of the Peruvian Altiplano, where we will stay on a traditional family-owned farm surrounded by open plains, pristine nature, and timeless Andean beauty.
This intimate experience includes walks through the property's ancient rock forest and a visit to the pre-Incan ceremonial site known as Pukara, where we will gather for another Huachuma ceremony in a setting of profound natural power.
With its rustic accommodations and authentic family hospitality, this portion of the tour offers a rare opportunity to slow down, reconnect with nature, and experience traditional Andean life. To preserve the personal nature of the experience, participation is intentionally limited.

Saqsayhuamán Journey
29 - 31 May, Cusco, Peru (3 Days, 2 Nights)
The final chapter of our pilgrimage brings us to Cusco, the historic heart of the Inca world. Together, we will explore the magnificent megalithic sanctuary of Saqsayhuamán, whose monumental stonework continues to inspire awe and wonder.
More than an archaeological site, Saqsayhuamán is a place of immense spiritual presence, offering a doorway into Peru's mythological and ceremonial past. As we conclude our journey, we will gather at a secluded sacred temple nearby for our final Huachuma ceremony, bringing the pilgrimage to a meaningful and unforgettable close.

Participants may choose to join the complete journey for the full transformational experience or reserve an individual segment that best aligns with their interests and availability.
Whether you seek personal growth, a deeper connection with ancestral wisdom, or an authentic encounter with Peru's sacred landscapes, the Chaka-Runa Mystical Tour offers a rare opportunity to walk the ancient paths of the Andes with reverence, guidance, and intention.
Travel logistics
All international flights arriving in Peru pass through Lima.
The Chavín de Huántar Temple Tour departs from Huaraz. The recommended arrival date in Huaraz is May 17. There is only one flight per day from Lima to Huaraz, departing early in the morning. We recommend arriving in Lima late in the evening or early the following morning so you can take the next available flight to Huaraz after a brief layover.
We recommend arriving on May 17 to allow adequate time to acclimate to the altitude (3,000 m / 9,840 ft) before we begin our pilgrimage to Chavín de Huántar. The final arrival date in Huaraz is May 18. We will travel by bus from Huaraz to Chavín de Huántar on the morning of May 19.
If you register for the Full Mystic Tour, accommodations are included for the nights of May 17 through May 30. International and domestic flights within Peru are not included. If you are participating in the Full Mystic Tour, you are responsible for arranging your own transportation to Huaraz, either by air or by bus. On May 24, we will fly from Huaraz to Juliaca (not included), and on the morning of May 27, we will travel by bus from the farm to Cusco (included). The tour concludes on May 31, after which participants are responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
For the Peruvian Altiplano Farm Experience, we will meet in Juliaca on May 24. Direct flights are available from Lima to Juliaca. We will depart Juliaca around midday on May 27.
The Saqsayhuamán Journey begins in Cusco on the morning of May 29. If you are joining only this portion of the tour, we recommend arriving on May 27. The latest arrival date is May 28. The tour includes two nights of accommodation in Cusco on May 29 and May 30. Participants are responsible for their own travel expenses, including meals.
