Post-Dieta & Integration
The period after a Master Plant Dieta is an important part of the process. It is a time to return gradually to your daily routines while continuing to follow some of the guidelines and restrictions you followed before the Dieta. Integration is the longer process of bringing the lessons, insights and experiences from your Plant Medicine journey into everyday life.
In the first days and weeks after the program, your body, mind and energy may still feel especially open and sensitive.
We want your experience to become more than a powerful memory. Our post-Dieta guidelines, group integration call and community support are there to help you stay connected with your process after returning home.

POST-DIETA
The same care continues after the Dieta
The way you prepare for a Dieta is also a good guide for how you approach the time afterwards.
Before arriving, you simplify your food, reduce outside stimulation, become more conscious of what you consume, and create space for the experience ahead. During the post-Dieta period, many of these same principles continue.
Your body, mind and energy have been through an intense process. Rather than immediately returning to everything you were doing before, give yourself time to come back gradually.
Post-Dieta

Integration
Continue to pay attention to what you eat and the substances you consume, where you spend time and with whom, and how much stimulation you take in.
The post-Dieta period is the first stage of integration. As the immediate restrictions gradually become less important, the focus begins to shift toward understanding your experience and bringing what feels meaningful into your everyday life.

THE FIRST WEEKS
Protect the space you created
After the Dieta, give yourself time before returning fully to the pace and stimulation of everyday life.
Don Gino describes this period as a time when your energy is still open and sensitive:
“After your journeys, your vibration has been lifted to a higher frequency. At the same time, it is fragile and vulnerable, and it needs time and space to be rooted.”
DON GINO
For the first two weeks, we recommend keeping your environment, food and daily life as calm and supportive as possible.

Avoid crowded and noisy environments when possible. Give yourself more time for rest, silence, nature and places where you feel settled.
“Take care and be a good guard of your energy gates.”
DON GINO
Try to avoid unnecessary conflict, stressful environments and people or situations that quickly pull you back into unhealthy patterns or strong negative emotions.
You do not need to isolate yourself. Spend time with people you trust and with whom you feel comfortable and safe.
Continue with simple, healthy post-Dieta food for at least two weeks.
Choose fresh, natural, organic foods. Take your time before returning to heavy or highly processed foods, and continue following the food restrictions explained during your Dieta.
The same general principle used during preparation applies afterwards. Return to your daily routines gradually, while also listening to yourself and what feels right for your body.
Continue avoiding alcohol and recreational drugs for at least two weeks after the Dieta.
In our understanding, the process continues beyond the final ceremony. Don Gino teaches that the spirit of the Plant Medicine remains with you for months, which is another reason to keep the post-Dieta period as clean and conscious as possible.
We recommend taking a break from sexual activity for at least the first week after the Dieta and returning to intimacy gradually.
Reconnecting with a trusted partner may feel different from becoming intimate with someone new. Give yourself time to notice what feels right for you.
During the post-Dieta period you may still feel especially open and sensitive. Be conscious of who you become intimate with and the situations you enter. This is not about judging sexuality. It is about giving yourself time to settle and protecting the space you have created.
Limit exposure to violent, stressful or highly negative news, media and online content.
You do not need to disconnect completely from the world, but give your own experience some space before filling your attention again with constant outside input.
Prescribed medication needs to be treated differently from alcohol and recreational drugs.
If you normally take prescribed medication, follow the plan agreed with your prescribing clinician before your Dieta.
If you need to begin a new medication during the post-Dieta period, tell the medical professional treating you that you recently participated in ayahuasca ceremonies and contact the Chaka Runa team if you have questions.
The purpose of these guidelines is not to remain separated from everyday life. It is to return gradually and consciously while giving the Dieta time to settle.
STAY CONNECTED
Ground yourself through creativity, movement and nature
After an intense Plant Medicine process, the mind can easily begin analysing everything that happened. Creative and grounding activities offer another way to stay connected with your experience without trying to understand everything immediately.

Grounding activities
Writing or journaling
Dancing
Meditation, breathing practices and yoga
Painting or drawing
Playing or listening to medicine music and Icaros
Spending time outdoors and in nature
These practices can help you express thoughts and emotions, relax, reconnect with yourself, and stay present in everyday life.
You do not need to do all of them. Choose what feels natural and supportive for you.
Integration does not have one universal recipe. What helps one person stay connected and grounded may be different from what helps another.
RETURNING HOME
Give yourself time before making big changes
When you return home, you may feel inspired, emotional, enthusiastic or eager to share what you experienced.
Sharing your experience
At the same time, the people around you may not fully understand your process, and they may continue relating to you in the same way as before.
Choose carefully when, how and with whom you share your experience. You do not need to explain everything immediately. Give yourself time to understand what the experience means for you before opening it to the opinions, expectations or judgements of others.
Major decisions
We also recommend avoiding major life decisions during the first month after the Dieta when possible.
Decisions involving relationships, family, work, business or other important areas of life deserve time. What feels very clear immediately after an intense experience may look different once you have had time to settle.
Be patient with yourself.
You do not need to act on every insight immediately
Integration is not about acting on every insight immediately. It is about noticing which insights remain meaningful over time and allowing important decisions to grow from a more grounded place.
FROM INSIGHT TO ACTION
Put your insights into practice
Once you have had some time to settle, you may begin to see more clearly which insights from the Dieta continue to feel important.
You may want to change certain habits, improve relationships, make healthier choices, approach your work differently, or move toward something that feels more meaningful in your life.
Rather than trying to change everything at once, take time to review what matters most and decide where to begin.
You may find it helpful to divide your goals into:
Short term
Small changes you can begin now.
Medium term
Changes that need more consistency, preparation or time.
Long term
Larger changes that may require patience and several steps.
Create a realistic plan and use it as a guide rather than a source of pressure.
Some insights may lead to action quite quickly. Others may need weeks or months before you understand what they really mean for you.
Integration is not about building a completely new life overnight. It is about gradually bringing what continues to feel true and meaningful into the way you live.
THE PROCESS CONTINUES
Stay open to what continues to unfold
The end of the Dieta does not mean the end of the process.
Don Gino describes it this way:
“The spirit of the Plant Medicine remains in your body and system for months.”
DON GINO
INTEGRATION SUPPORT
You do not have to integrate alone
Integration is a personal process, but support can help you understand what is still unfolding after you return home.
Group integration call
Around one month after the Dieta, we come together again for a group integration call, included in your program.
This gives participants space to reflect on the experience, share what has come up since returning home, ask questions, and reconnect with the group after some time has passed.
Individual integration support
If you feel that you would benefit from more personal guidance, individual integration sessions can also be arranged separately for an additional fee.
These sessions offer more space to explore specific experiences, questions or challenges that feel important for your ongoing process.
The Chaka Runa community
Chaka Runa has created an online global community to help you feel supported and connected during your integration process.
It is a space where you can ask questions, share your experience, and connect with people who have gone through a similar journey and may be able to offer useful insights and support.
“I am sorry to say, you are now part of the Chaka Runa Family.”
DON GINO
IF INTEGRATION FEELS DIFFICULT
Reach out for support
Not every part of integration feels clear or easy.
If you experience persistent psychological distress, significant anxiety, severe sleep problems or difficulty managing everyday life, reach out to the Chaka Runa team. Seek support from a qualified mental health professional when needed.

THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
The journey continues
The Dieta is not an end point, but a meaningful step on a longer path. The experiences, lessons and connections from this time can continue to support you in your life, long after you return home.
You carry the teachings with you, and they can keep unfolding in their own time.
